Strength

God Sees The Heart

Our God measures man by His standard divine,
For He sees underneath every outward design.
He looks past possessions and costly attire;
He studies the heart, every thought and desire.

Our God does not judge by how tall we may stand,
Or how much we possess, or the rank we command.
His gaze goes far deeper to things that endure;
He honors the man who keeps his heart pure.

For the eyes of the Lord are searching to and fro,
We have no secrets that our God does not know.
Our Father knows our thoughts, He understands every part.
Man sees the outside, but God sees the heart.

1 Chronicles 28:9-10

9And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

10Take heed now; for the LORD hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.

Thank God for today, seriously.. was feeling quite down, uncertain, not at peace since last night.. then this morning, certain songs were running through my mind during the bus ride. and it just gave me the strength to continue with the day.. God is good! and it's so true that when you draw near to God, He will draw near to you. . so many challenges each week and God is my strength of hope to pull through all of it and the love that comes from Him to carry on. one thing that i've learnt is, no matter what kind of frustrations appear in your life, love erases them.

Lord,
teach me to love..

Trust in Him

Matthew 6:25-34

25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

A Simple Prayer

"I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me" (Acts 27:25).

I went to America some years ago with the captain of a steamer, who was a very devoted Christian. When off the coast of Newfoundland he said to me, "The last time I crossed here, five weeks ago, something happened which revolutionized the whole of my Christian life. We had George Mueller of Bristol on board. I had been on the bridge twenty-four hours and never left it. George Mueller came to me, and said, "Captain I have come to tell you that I must be in Quebec Saturday afternoon." "It is impossible," I said. "Very well, if your ship cannot take me, God will find some other way. I have never broken an engagement for fifty-seven years. Let us go down into the chart-room and pray."

I looked at that man of God, and thought to myself, what lunatic asylum can that man have come from? I never heard of such a thing as this. "Mr. Mueller," I said, "do you know how dense this fog is?" "No," he replied, "my eye is not on the density of the fog, but on the living God, who controls every circumstance of my life."

He knelt down and prayed one of the most simple prayers, and when he had finished I was going to pray; but he put his hand on my shoulder, and told me not to pray. "First, you do not believe He will answer; and second I BELIEVE HE HAS, and there is no need whatever for you to pray about it."

I looked at him, and he said, "Captain, I have known my Lord for fifty-seven years, and there has never been a single day that I have failed to get audience with the King. Get up, Captain and open the door, and you will find the fog gone." I got up, and the fog was indeed gone. On Saturday afternoon, George Mueller was in Quebec for his engagement.--Selected

"If our love were but more simple,
We should take Him at His word;
And our lives would be all sunshine,
In the sweetness of our Lord."

The Geese

There was once a man who didn't believe in God, and he didn't hesitate to let others
know how he felt about religion and religious holidays.

His wife, however, did believe, and she raised their children to also have faith in
God and Jesus, despite his disparaging comments.

One snowy Eve, his wife was taking their children to service in the farm community in
which they lived.

They were to talk about Jesus' birth. She asked him to come, but he refused. "That
story is nonsense!" he said. "Why would God lower Himself to come to Earth as a man?
That's ridiculous!"

So she and the children left, and he stayed home.

A while later, the winds grew stronger and the snow turned into a blizzard. As the
man looked out the window, all he saw was a blinding snowstorm. He sat down to relax
before the fire for the evening. Then he heard a loud thump.

Something had hit the window. He looked out, but couldn't see more than a few feet.

When the snow let up a little, he ventured outside to see what could have been beating
on his window.

In the field near his house he saw a flock of wild geese. Apparently they had been
flying south for the winter when they got caught in the snowstorm and couldn't go
on. They were lost and stranded on his farm, with no food or shelter. They just
flapped their wings and flew around the field in low circles, blindly and aimlessly.
A couple of them had flown into his window, it seemed.

The man felt sorry for the geese and wanted to help them. The barn would be a great
place for them to stay, he thought. It's warm and safe; surely they could spend the
night and wait out the storm. So he walked over to the barn and opened the doors wide,
then watched and waited, hoping they would notice the open barn and go inside. But
the geese just fluttered around aimlessly and didn't seem to notice the barn or
realize what it could mean for them.

The man tried to get their attention, but that just seemed to scare them, and they
moved further away. He went into the house and came with some bread, broke it up,
and made a bread crumb trail leading to the barn. They still didn't catch on.

Now he was getting frustrated. He got behind them and tried to shoo them toward the
barn, but they only got more scared and scattered in every direction except toward
the barn. Nothing he did could get them to go into the barn where they would be
and safe.

"Why don't they follow me?!" he exclaimed. "Can't they see this is the only place
where they can survive the storm?"

He thought for a moment and realized that they just wouldn't follow a human "If only
I were a goose, then I could save them," he said out loud.

Then he had an idea. He went into barn, got one of his own geese, and carried it in
his arms as he circled around behind the flock of wild geese.

He then released it. His goose flew through the flock and straight into the barn --
and one-by-one, the other geese followed it to safety.

He stood silently for a moment as the words he had spoken a few minutes earlier
replayed in his mind: "If only I were a goose, then I could save them!" Then he
thought about what he had said to his wife earlier. "Why would God want to be
like us? That's ridiculous!"

Suddenly it all made sense. That is what God had done. We were like the geese--blind,
lost, perishing. God had His Son become like us so He could show us the way and
save us.

As the winds and blinding snow died down, his soul became quiet and pondered this
wonderful thought. Suddenly he understood why Christ had come.

Years of doubt and disbelief vanished with the passing storm. He fell to his knees
in the snow, and prayed his first prayer:

"Thank You, God, for coming in human form to get me out of the storm!"

the month of January

January is over and it's the month of February now. As i reflect back on the month of January, it has been an interesting month for me. Towards the last 2 weeks of January, i had made myself so packed with activties. Though it can be tiring but keeping myself busy can simply keep certain thoughts/ problems away for awhile. KEYWORD: AWHILE. hahaha... whatever that had happened for the month of January, i trust that God is in control of it (:

Trials and problems will definitely come to us for life is never a bed of roses.. it is not the problems which matter the most but rather it's our reaction to it. When problems arises, do we keep our knees down and head up? or taking it in our own hands?

Thank God for the month of January. Many precious lessons learnt. Many times we try to do what is good and what is right but we will definitely fall. God is good for He upholdeth us when we fall.. Such wondrous grace of God! We are unworthy sinners yet He choose to love us. This is how great our God is! =)

This year i'm reminded once again that our time on earth is real short.. i want to live it to the fullest each day, giving my all to the Lord! it's by His grace that i'm still here, well and alive.. i dont wanna wait till when i'm frail and weak to serve Him, hee.. thanking God and praising Him can indeed lift up our spirit. i'm blessed to have a great God who is always here for me =)

Even though i 'enjoy' being so busy, my body cannot take it anymore, i need a good long rest before i continue to tire myself out.. Thank God that He is my strength! the secret to being strong in the Lord is to be still and know that He is God..

Till here for now and i do miss spending time with the people close to my heart. . .

Make a Way

"I will make all my mountains a way" (Isa.49:11).

God will make obstacles serve His purpose. We all have mountains in our lives. There are people and things that threaten to bar our progress in the Divine life. Those heavy claims, that uncongenial occupation, that thorn in the flesh, that daily cross--we think that if only these were removed we might live purer, tenderer, holier lives; and often we pray for their removal.

"Oh, fools, and slow of heart!" These are the very conditions of achievement; they have been put into our lives as the means to the very graces and virtues for which we have been praying so long. Thou hast prayed for patience through long years, but there is something that tries thee beyond endurance; thou hast fled from it, evaded it, accounted it an unsurmountable obstacle to the desired attainment, and supposed that its removal would secure thy immediate deliverance and victory.

Not so! Thou wouldest gain only the cessation of temptations to impatience. But this would not be patience. Patience can be acquired only through just such trials as now seem unbearable. Go back; submit thyself. Claim to be a partaker in the patience of Jesus. Meet thy trials in Him. There is nothing in life which harasses and annoys that may not become subservient to the highest ends. They are His mountains. He puts them there. We know that God will not fail to keep His promise. "God understandeth the way thereof and knoweth the place thereof. For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven"; and when we come to the foot of the mountains, we shall find the way.--Christ in Isaiah, by Meyer

"The meaning of trial is not only to test worthiness, but to increase it; as the oak is not only tested by the storm, but toughened by them."
